Term 5

We can’t believe how fast this term has flown by. We have been looking at the question ‘What makes Britain great?’

We had some very naughty crayons from the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ come and mess up our classroom!  We had great fun writing letters and thinking about how the crayons must have felt.  One morning we came into class to find that our chairs had quit and they left us a letter with all their complaints.  We had to write a letter of apology on the floor before we were able to sit on them again! We have also been learning about the author Beatrix Potter and her favourite story – The tales of Peter Rabbit

.

In maths we looked at fractions of numbers and shapes.  We have also begun looking at telling the time.

In Science, we have been looking at plants, and we have been growing plants from seeds and trying to ensure we give the plants everything they need to grow.

In Geography, we have been looking at the countries that make up the United Kingdom.  We have learnt all sorts of exciting facts and can place the countries on a map.

In RE, we have been learning about Islam and thinking about the question: does going to a Mosque give Muslims a sense of belonging? We have looked at how we belong together as a class and have played games showing how we work and belong together.

In art, we have looked at the English author and illustrator Quentin Blake.  We have done some incredible drawings of crocodiles and people in the style of Quentin Blake.

In PE, we have been learning about rugby and working together as a team.  We have also started athletics and are learning many skills for our sports day next term.

Outdoor learning is still one of our favourite times and we made some lovely Peter Rabbit ears using natural materials.
