We have continued learning about our question, “What makes Britain great?”  This last term has gone by so quickly but we have packed in lots of great learning. We have focussed on Roald Dahl in literacy and have looked at two of his books as well as learning lots of facts about Roald.  We made some amazing marvellous medicines which resulted in some great instruction writing and lots of discussion about what would happen to you if you drank it.   When we looked at The Twits, we made up some very nasty tricks that Mr and Mrs Twit could do on each other.

Maths is about statistics and position and direction, and we also finished off learning to tell the time. Dancing to the Cha cha slide has been the highlight of our maths lessons, and it has really helped with our left and right positions.  

We finished off our topic by using our DT skills to design our own sandwich fillings.  We are really looking forward to making and eating our sandwiches.  A lot of practice on how to butter a sandwich is needed!

We loved family week and having our Dad’s in to draw portraits of us to  see how well we knew each other. 

We also had a great picnic with our grandparents and enjoyed performing for them.                      

In computing we learnt all about the ISS and how they communicate via computers.  We loved finding out about the life of astronauts.

We had lots of fun activities during Champions week. We loved all our sessions but learning to skateboard was the most popular event of the week. We finally got to have our sports day, which was  hot and fun.  Well done everyone for taking part. 

In our art lessons we have looked at British illustrators.  We looked closely at Quentin Blake’s illustrations in Roald Dahl’s books and drew and painted in the same style.
