Enrichment weeks

Families Week - 8th June - 12th June 2026

Families’ week is an opportunity for children to learn about the different family structures in our modern society. They will learn that some children have a mum and a dad, some live-in single parent families, some have foster parents, some live with their grandparents and some have same-sex parents.  The focus of the week is to show the children that as long as the family environment is a loving one it does not matter how it is structured.

Celebrating and acknowledging the different types of families and relationships is crucial to helping children develop empathy and value others.

Enterprise Week 18th June 26

Purpose/Aim

The aims of the week are to expand pupil’s understanding of economic wellbeing and to develop enterprise skills, such as; problem solving, financial awareness, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership.

Over the week each class will design and make a product in order to raise money. Each class will research, plan, advertise, produce and ‘sell’ a product.  This process will encourage the children to use skills such as: effective communication, creativity and innovation, initiative, organising and planning, leadership and financial literacy. The items made will be sold on the Friday of Enterprise Week. The class that raises the most money will be awarded the enterprise award!

Well done to Year 6 for winning the Enterprise Cup raising £127!

Democracy Week Sept 25

Throughout the week we explored what it means to live in a democratic country. We were reminded of the United Nation's Rights of a Child and reviewed our school rights and responsibilities.

Our Year 6 Head of School Council candidates canvassed for votes and every member of the school voted using a ballot paper.

Everyone also voted for their Head of Houses after some compelling speeches in assembly.

Really confident public speaking and presenting! Well done.
