Term 2

Wow! Another busy term in Holly Class! We have continued our topic ‘What makes me a toy expert?’ and loved having our grown ups come into school to help us make a board game. Once our games were made, we had lots of fun playing them!

We have also been busy making pop up books in our literacy and DT lessons. We read the story ‘The Everywhere Bear’ then created our own journey for the bear. We added springs, flaps and fold and cut pop-up parts to our pictures.

In literacy we have also been reading ‘The Paper Dolls’ and ‘The Forgotten Toys’. We have drawn and written about the characters and setting. We have been working hard to develop our sentence writing skills.

In RE, we have been learning about the Christmas story. We have created mind maps and collages to show what we have learnt. A highlight of the term has been performing The Nativity ‘The Angel Express’ to the school and our parents.

In science, we have been learning about animals. We have learnt about the animal groups and have made a range of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds. We presented our work to the class and talked about our animals.

In maths, we have been learning about shapes. We loved identifying and sorting out all of the 2D and 3D shapes.
