Term 6

Wow what a fun term we have had! We have continued our topic ‘Does farming matter?’ and really enjoyed our trip to The Rare Breeds. We met the animals, had a tractor ride and watched the pig racing! Back at school we decided on our favourite farm animal and researched it.

We were also very lucky to have Cooper’s brother bring a tractor into school! We were surprised at how big it was and tried to see if anyone was taller than the wheels! It was very exciting having a tractor in the playground. Later in the day, we created our own tractor themed art work. Every finished piece was completely individual and so colourful.

In art, we have been learning about David Hockney. We have painted our own versions of David Hockney’s famous painting- Garrowby Hill. We mixed our own colours and added details using oil pastels.

In DT, we have been learning about the journey from seed to bread. We visited the bakery and brought different breads to taste test. We then made our own bread rolls which were delicious!

As part of Families Week we welcomed our Significant Males into school to make a book about our families with us. We loved working with them!

Finally, we loved sports week! From skateboarding, to jump trampolining to sports day, we had a fantastic week! What a pleasure it has been to spend such a fantastic term with Holly Class!
