Learning together, we grow kind hearts and healthy minds
Wow, what a busy term! Our key question has been ‘Could The Gruffalo live with all the other animals?’. We made collages of the deep dark wood and described them during our literacy lessons. In DT, we practised making different types of pop up parts then used these skills to create our own Gruffalo pop up books. We focused on using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in our sentences and illustrated each page beautifully.
In science we have been learning about animals, including humans. We can name the parts of our body and say which senses are associated with each one. We have also learnt about the different animal groups; mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish and birds. We created our own blue tang fish and clownfish.
In maths we have continued to learn about subtraction but have also been learning about shapes. We can match up and name 2D and 3D shapes.
During gymnastics we have explored moving in different ways and have loved jumping from different apparatus!
We have managed to get outside for some Forest School sessions this term. During our time outside we have made shelters, played in the mud kitchen and toasted marshmallows over the fire. We also collected natural resources to create our own fox pictures.
Finally…..the highlight of the term has been our Nativity performance! We loved performing to the rest of the school and our parents.
