Learning together, we grow kind hearts and healthy minds
It has been another exciting term in Holly Class as we have continued learning about farming. After reading the little red hen and visiting the bakery in the village, we decided to make our own bread rolls. We worked together to make the dough and were excited to watch it rise! Everyone’s bread looked and smelt delicious!
In History we have been learning about farming in the past and have compared it to farming today. We created pictures to show farming in the past and present. In the past, lots of the work was done by hand, but now farmers have machines such as combine harvesters.
In Geography we have learnt about India. We used the atlases to locate India then drew our own maps. We also tried on some traditional Indian clothes and made the flag of India. Using our knowledge of the weather, we have thought about whether bananas will grow best in India or the UK.
A highlight of the term has been sports week where we were able to try yoga, martial arts and skateboarding! Everyone had so much fun and learnt lots of new skills.
Finally, we have ended the term with the KS1 party- an afternoon of party food, bouncy castles, hook a duck and hotdogs! Lots of fun was had by everyone!
