Term 3

It has been another busy term in Holly Class! This term our topic question is ‘Is a pirate’s life for me?’. We have used the iPads to research a famous pirate called Blackbeard and have used the information we gathered to write a biography. We have also read ‘The pirates next door’ and have written letters, character descriptions and setting descriptions. Our writing this term has been amazing!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our Forest School sessions this term and have taken part in a range of activities. One of our favourite things has been cooking over the campfire. We have learnt how to safely peel the fruit and vegetables needed to make soup and fruit crumble. We have also been on a treasure hunt and made bird feeders which we watched the squirrels eat!

In art we have learnt about the artist Henri Matisse. Here are some of our collages which have been inspired by ‘The snail’ and ‘Beasts of the sea’.

In ICT we have had fun using the beebots! We have learnt how to programme the beebots so that they follow a route.

Finally, we have had another super term in maths and have developed our understanding of place value to 20. We are confident reading and writing numbers to 20 and can also add and subtract within 20. We take part in indoor and outdoor activities each lesson.
