This years 'World Week' focus was “Where does our food come from?” An opportunity for children to gain awareness of the origins of the food they eat, the impact of international trading and the affects on the global environment. Children across the school explored the journey food goes on, why we need to import and what changes could be made to create a positive impact in the future.
We had a workshop 'Green Shoots' where we planted pea shoot seeds in sustainable coconut coir and got to take them home to harvest and try with our families.
We also got to look at different ways we can upcycle and repurpose lots of our single use plastics into bags and purses and pencil cases. All with aim of protecting our planet.
